Hello Friends!

I’ve loved drawing for a long time, and watercolours too. From about 2018, I started casually keeping a notebook of drawings when I travelled, and in 2021 onwards, it turned into a regular habit of sketching at gigs, hangs with friends, and then watercolours in and around the place.

The collection of them, which I recently photographed, has come to cover all sorts of environments and encounters over the past few years, and I thought I’d share them with you all.

You can see the full collection across three sets here (set 1), here (set 2) and here (set 3) - I might do something with them down the track, maybe reproduce some as an album of friends, scenes, etc. (there are over 600 images across the three sets, mostly spanning 2022 to now)

It’s so lucky to be able to have friends and communities, individuals and particular places, to connect with, all across the world, but with this migratory, always-in-motion life that I have had, especially for the past few years, has come a feeling of being scattered across the place; the people I know largely don’t know each other, and that is a different life than that of being immersed in one community or one place, where the people you know already have a connection with each other, and form a palpable net around the shape of you. It’s easy to be a lot of places, but hard to always miss some part of oneself.

My own memory of the richness of life is increased when I look at these drawings, I hope having a gander through them is fun for you too.

As we get towards another equinox and some of us go towards the beach while the others close to the fireplace, it’s warming to remember how precious these days are, and how specific, in their entirety.
